Update and plea
Monday night, Kathy kind of couldn’t breath, Doug called 911 and she was rushed ot hospital, after consulting an oracle and determining that it would be in her best interest not to die just then.
She was discharged from hospital yesterday. She seems to be stable.
The bills will be enormous–her scrips alone ran us over $300. I think the ambulance ride alone will be $500, and I don’t even want to think what the hospital bill will be. Anyone wishing to help financially can send checks or MOs, payable to MVFCU, to

Thanks.

Greyfox—I am terribly poor, but if I have ANY extra money this Christmas, I will send it to you and Kathy. She has been a HUGE force in my life for the past 5 or 6 years….
Please message me on my Xanga site, or e-mail me at tidal_siren@yahoo.com
Even if I cannot give money (which I hope to) I would at leats like to talk with Kathy and see how she is. Please respond. Thanks SO much.

You can expect it in January. I said as much (tactlessly) on the back of your Christmas card.

Something you might consider most hospitals have a charity fund to address such needs. Might mitigate the financial burden some.
^Good point. I am in the proicess of putting together the paper work for that very purpose. There still remains the $500 ambulance fee, the $300 plus for the first round of scrips–plus the fact that I may be working exactly two days over the next two months.
Hey Arms. This is Yoh from the forums. I can’t find find another way to contact you besides this…I was wondering if I could have your email just to ask a few questions about your occupation?
I’m sorry to hear about this.
I’ve been a little MIA as of late, but can relate to the bills you’re talking about. I think the American Medical system is a piece of crap…who can put a price on a life? Apparently doctors, because they are gods!!!

Yeaaaa…we did that with my husband’s medical bills, and it took the hospital bill down from around 9k for a week’s stay to 5k…how sweet >
. That hadn’t covered his needed ultrasound to see if he had blood clots, the doctor’s visits each day to the hospital, or his subsequent visits to the doctor to get his blood levels thinned out enough so that he wouldn’t have either a stroke or heart attack due to the massive amounts of clots in his leg. Oh…and he’s 26. He will be on Coumadin for the rest of his life, and every time he says it hurts to stand or the muscles behind his knee start pinching, I can’t help but wonder what it would be like if things were different…
Sorry for the rant…but I hate this bloody American version of a medical system.
